Watson says it seeks approval for generic Opana ER

WATSON SAYS IT SEEKS APPROVAL FOR GENERIC OPANA ER

Watson said on Monday that it is seeking clearance to sell a generic version of Endo's painkiller Opana ER, AP reports.

Endo has filed a patent infringement suit to block the approval. Watson is hoping to get approval to market a generic version of 40-milligram Opana ER tablets.

The company has said that it has filed for FDA approval on 19th January and challenged the patents on the drug. Endo and its partner Penwest responded by filing a suit against Watson.
