ASTRAZENECA TAKES SUN PHARMA TO COURT
AstraZeneca has taken Sun Pharma to court in a bid to prevent the Indian company from selling a generic form of the ulcer medicine Nexium IV in the US before 2014, the Times of India Reports.
AStraZeneca has filed two lawsuits against Sun Pharma and its US subsidiary in a federal court in Trenton, New Jersey, and on 1st March in Detroit.
Nexium (Esomeprazole Magnesium) is the largest selling drug for AstraZeneca. Reports indicated that the drug had sales of $2.84 billion in the US market in 2009. Its patents are valid in the US till 2014.
